"Tame" Sinuous Snaketails

These Sinuous Snaketails were caught on the Shasta River, Siskiyou County ~6 miles north of Yreka by Kathy and Dave Biggs, and Bob and Patti Claypole on July 2, 2000. They were abundant and 'tame': we could catch them in our hands and they would let us carry them about on our fingers, hats, etc. We could even step within inches of them before disturbing them. It was a nice warm day and all the other dragonfly species were as wary as ever! Doug Ellis was in a nearby area a few days later and had the same experience!
