Dragonfly: California Darner female ovipositing (Rhionaeschna californica)

This female California Darner was photographed ovipositing at Bigsnest Wildlife Pond in 2011 (two images of one female, photo-stitched together).

The ovipositing female shown below is also a California Darner and was photographed at Bigsnest Wildlife on Pond April 11, 2000. They are frequent spring breeders in our pond.
In the photo on the left above (taken first in time sequence) she is ovipositing into the top of a Creeping Primrose stem, while in the second photo, on the right, she has moved to ovipositing into
the bottom of the Creeping Primrose stem.
